We’re delighted, excited, thrilled & spilled to be able to share with you the fantastic news that Dan O’Shea has just gone A…
Here’s what The Bookseller had to say about it:
Angry Robot crime imprint Exhibit A has acquired two titles from US author Dan O’Shea.
Commissioning editor Emlyn Rees bought world English rights in Unto Caesar from Stacia Decker at the Donald Maass Literary Agency, and will publish simultaneously in the UK and US in June 2013.
Unto Caesar tells the story of a rogue government sniper and the Chicago policeman, Detective John Lynch, tasked with hunting him down. As his search continues, Lynch becomes more deeply involved in the underworld of political corruption at the heart of city, and simultaneously finds himself getting closer to solving a decades-old mystery surrounding the night his father died.
Rees said: “Not only is Unto Caesar a compelling stand alone conspiracy thriller, but in John Lynch it introduces a complex and compelling hero to whom crime fiction readers will be instantly drawn.”
And here’s what Dan himself had to say:
“Today, I’m pleased, hell, I’m positively chuffed (little tip of the derby to Emlyn Rees and my new UK buddies) to announce that I’ve signed a two-book deal with Exhibit A – the new crime imprint from the good folks at Angry Robot books.”
Dan’s actually got a lot more (and a lot funnier) to say on the matter over on his totally uncompromising site Going Ballistic.
We recommend you pour yourself a coffee, or maybe something stronger, and check it out. There are plenty of links to Dan’s work and interests, as well as podcasts read by Dan the man himself of some of the gritty, moving and inspiring tales which appear in his short story collection, OLD SCHOOL, which can now be spotted riding high on the Amazon US chart.
