We’re delighted to announce that the search for Exhibit A’s first author is over. The brilliant thriller writer, Richard Parker, has joined us as part of a two book deal. Redemption Place, the first of these novels, is going to be released in late Spring 2013.
6 houses
6 gruesome homicides
6 chances to save his daughter
Redemption Place is an addictive, race-against-the-clock thriller that will appeal to anyone who’s ever worried that someone might one day use the internet to track them down and cause them harm.
Richard Parker published Stop Me in 2010, for which he was later shortlisted for the Crime Writers Association John Creasey New Blood Dagger Award. “Stop Me is a tightly-written, fast-paced debut that keeps you turning the pages.” – Simon Kernick.
Exhibit A editor, Emlyn Rees, said: “Richard Parker is an author who takes our darkest modern fears and weaves them into terrifying stories that will keep readers up all night. A new Harlan Coben in the making.”
Richard says: “It’s very exciting to be part of a brand new crime imprint – particularly one with such a wealth of talent and expertise at its disposal. Exhibit A’s attitude reflects my own – heaps of enthusiasm and plenty to prove. I’m also glad that my work will be so readily available in the US as well as the UK and reaching out to a much wider readership will certainly make me up my game.”
“My strategy with Redemption Place was to construct an emotional as well as pulse pounding reading experience. In a handful of days one man has to follow a trail of homicides to his kidnapped daughter that is the product of many years meticulous planning by someone whose multiple motives are only truly revealed in the closing pages. His terrifying ordeal is viewed from several perspectives and these additional layers of narrative intensify the notion that every tiny choice he makes could sever the fine thread his daughter hangs by.”
Richard can be contacted on his website and on Twitter @Bookwalter. And here’s a link to his announcement in The Bookseller.

What Richard ‘Book Walter’ does superbly well – like many great crime auhors of his genre and era – is augment an originally dark and compelling storyline with strong, addictive characters. He will keep you guessing and without any sense of effort, will also keep you turning (or for Kindle fans, clicking) the pages. Stop me was brilliant, in fact the best 99p I will ever spend! This new novel sounds along the same lines: A modern technology savvy and genuinely thought provoking slap on the face or the social networking generation. Read it? Try and ‘Stop Me’!
Richard says: Glad there are a few new movies for you to catch up with there. Hope you enjoy.
